Faithful 2020

This entire decade was a flash before my eyes. However, it has been amazing to see the Word of God transform so many lives. I continue to see the transition of the grey area of luke-warmness gradually disappear and this is a wonderful thing. People can not continue to believe in the illusion that not taking a clear stance and not making a clear choice equals not taking a side. This is a great deception. Anyone who believes they can stand in an imaginary grey area and not take sides actually has already made their choice of rejecting the truth. You either stand on the side of the truth of Jesus Christ or not.

I remember a preacher years ago say at a late night sermon to ring in the New Year “We need to have a New Year’s Revelation NOT a New Year’s Resolution”. I still remember that every New Year. Let’s have that Revelation again every New Year that we need to strive to find who we are in Christ and how we can be faithful with our lives and everything he has given to us. Our time, our gifts, our resources and most of all our hearts and minds.

“And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:29-31, King James Version)

What will you do this New Year? Hopefully I pray you will see through the schemes of the devil who seeks to distract and destroy you and your family. Hopefully I pray you will daily strive to crucify your flesh and draw closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. Hopefully I pray you will not seek the things and the pleasures of this world when we should be seeking how to get the gospel out to the lost and to make disciples of all believers. Hopefully I pray you will be the husband, wife, father, mother, sister, brother, friend and disciple of Christ that HE wants you to be.

May the Lord Jesus Christ show your grace, mercy and favor accordingly this 2020! The Missionhog is ready to go and is extremely excited to see what HE is going to do this year.
