We want to thank all Missionhog partners who showed their love for their brothers and sisters overseas in their time of trial. Gift giving was a common occurrence in Paul’s time concerning the Churches.
“But now I have finished my work in these regions, and after all these long years of waiting, I am eager to visit you. I am planning to go to Spain, and when I do, I will stop off in Rome. And after I have enjoyed your fellowship for a little while, you can provide for my journey. But before I come, I must go to Jerusalem to take a gift to the believers there. For you see, the believers in Macedonia and Achaia have eagerly taken up an offering for the poor among the believers in Jerusalem.” (Romans 15:23-26, KJV)
Why is the China care package program closed? Because we have done all we can do. Praise Jesus that we were all faithful to the task. Basically we operate on a couple core principles. Is the work ongoing that it requires resources? Do we have the resources to be able to continue to project? In this case it is not possible for us to source bulk supplies in any meaningful way. Now that news of the virus has reached other countries and even the USA, more people are beginning to get what supplies they can for themselves. We have no more sources left to buy masks and all the shelves are empty. Even just the other day when we were going to a store a Chinese person came running in and asked the employee right near us if they still had masks.
The good news is that if you participated and partnered together with us, we were able to help 5 different House Churches with care packages. Only one Church has not received their package and we are hoping that they will receive it soon.
When we say that we partner in the work together with you please know that we also made personal donations to this project. We don’t just go around asking for help and then do nothing ourselves. Every project the Missionhog takes on we would like you to know that we also are personally involved in the support of that project. Praise God!
Just because the China care package has ended please don’t think it ends here. There are a few ongoing projects that we have been working on. That I will list below. If you are interested to continue to support the Missionhog we welcome your friendship and would love for you to contact us personally. Our phone number and email contact is listed below.
Ongoing and future projects that we need prayer and support over:
1. West Virginia discipleship materials – This will go to providing materials and discipleship of new believers in disadvantaged areas of West Virginia.
2. Community evangelism and training – We have ongoing work for strategic evangelism in disadvantaged communities in SE North Carolina. If you feel that local Churches could use a hand with community evangelism efforts then please support the Missionhog ministry to send MORE Gospel witnesses out.
3. Panama – This is a long term project that we are still working on according to the Lord’s timing. We were able to take a two week trip last October which really helped provide some good contacts and future direction. There are a few aspects of this project that we are looking at. The first is that we are in the business planning phase of a type of Christian education service.
There is a great lack of quality education in Panama and this type of platform could possibly provide us a future platform for bi-vocational ministry. Not only would any student’s receive solid Bible training, but also leadership training to prepare them to potentially be the next Christian CEO’s or government leaders of the world. We also could use this as a platform to bring youth from US partner Churches to become part time or full time teachers and help provide a stepping stone to overseas Mission’s experience. The other side of this platform is that fundraising is very difficult today.
There are thousands of Churches and ministries out there so who are we in the midst of all that? Especially being a new startup it is very difficult and filled with God sized challenges. The Christian education service would help provide a beneficial Mission’s platform that would have the potential to help support and fund the Missionhog ministry not just to reach those children and helping young future Missionaries but possibly free us up time to work on planting a Chinese Church among the Chinese Panamanians. This last trip we were able to talk to a local Pastor we know and he was able to give us a contact number of a guy he knows that is working directly with Chinese Panamanians. We look forward to what God has in store about the potential to work with this brother to reach and unreached Chinese diaspora.
The motto of the Missionhog is “Serving Christ Day by Day.” What this means to us is that the Mission is every day no matter where we are. The key thing to ask is “Are we being a witness to the lost?” Whether we are in the US or abroad or a little of both we are going to wake up each day with an intention and motivation to wonder what God has in store for us today. It is good to make general plans about how God may be leading in the future but we have to maintain a daily focus to see how He is leading every step of the way. If we only focus on something in the distance then we walk blindly not seeing what is in our path up until that point. Please consider ongoing support to the Missionhog ministry. Praise Jesus!
